So as mentioned before you get to keep your original BMW system and the picture below is the Android screen system. As you can see it looks like the newer BMW system (ID5) and you even have the choice to display the newer versions (ID6 & ID7). You have access to the Playstore and you can download whatever apps you want to the Android Unit. It is basically like having an Android Tablet in your car. Once apps have been downloaded they will be shown as tiles on the more apps page. Our Android units are version 10.0 and this supports split-screen multitasking mode. So you can have two apps open at the same time. For example, you can have your navigations maps open and have a YouTube video playing or any other app open at the same time. Here is how iPhone CarPlay will look once connected if the Carplay dongle for Android unit is purchased. These apps are loaded in from your phone. You can search and download more CarPlay compatible apps to your phone to load into your car CarPlay. You have many settings for your Android unit if you want to add in a reverse camera or aftermarket subwoofer with an amp you can do this. To access the advanced Factory settings You have a dashboard which is basically a sports display. Here you can see your speed, RPM revs, if any of the doors are open, if handbrakes is on and if you are wearing your seatbelt or not. If you don’t have internet connection you can always download movies/videos to a USB and play them directly from there.
